NutritionAre you finding your diet difficult to conquer? Here are some tips to eating with total nutrition in mind: Protein choices: chicken breast, tuna, turkey, fish, lean trimmed beef, egg whites, whole eggs, cottage cheese or other cheeses containing less than 3gms fat per ounce.Carbohydrate choices: brown rice, oatmeal, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, pasta, kidney beans, lima and other beans, corn, lentils and peas, whole grain high fiber breads, rice cakes or whole grain unsweetened cereal. Fruit choices: apples, apricots, cantaloupe, cherries, grapefruit, honeydew melons, nectarines, oranges, mango, papaya, peaches, plums, pineapple, pear, watermelon, bananas or strawberries and other berries. Vegetable choices: asparagus, broccoli, green beans, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, kale, lettuce and other green leafy vegetables, onions, peppers, radishes, snow peas, string beans, squash or tomatoes. Fat/Oil choices: flax seed oil, sunflower, canola, walnut, olive oil, nuts; almonds, brazil, pecans, walnuts. Peanut butter, avocados, olives, salad dressing, Molly McButter or small amounts of "no calorie" butter types sprays (Pam). |
